Half Hair - pastel pink / Lilac

This is the latest hair i have had the pleasure of inflicting upon one of my best friends! the hair fades from a pastel colour down the length of the hair to a darker colour.

her hair started off as a mid tone blonde that was previously dyed that colour. from there i used a low strength bleach that was applied mainly to the crown of the head, and loosely through the lengths of the hair to add tone, the hair was pretty light to begin with but as the top of the hair was a light pastel, the mid blonde would be too yellow to take the lilac properly.

The bleach was on no longer than 15 minutes and her hair was white.

After that i sectioned the hair down the middle and tied one side up.

I started with the pink side and mixed one half teaspoon of pink dye to two coffee cup sizes of conditioner, this made the base for both sides of the hairs lightest colours as i matched the fade on both sides as i went down the hair, i ran the lightest batch of dye through ALL of the hair, i then grabbed neat undiluted dye from the pot and ran it through the ends on both sides, working up the hair slowly, this gave the nice gradient and this nice tone to the hair so it  didn't look too flat.

even though the hair was blonde to begin with it is possible to achieve this hair from a darker starting point, i have had pastel hair myself going from my natural dark brunette as a starting point.

feel free to ask questions :)
